Yesterday evening Yahoo! launched Axis, a program that can be used as a web browser in mobile devices and as a search tool in desktop browsers such as Chrome and Internet Explorer.
The three main novelties about this software are:
- A function by which, while you type what you are looking for, a set of small visual previews of the pages matching your query appear for you to open.
- A function to directly provide you information such as the weather when you look for it.
- A function to start browsing in one device and continue in another one, similar to the one introduced by Google Chrome a week ago with the name of Tab Sync.
The software, already available for download, has versions for iPhone and iPad and plug-ins for all the major desktop browsers.
